Ready for the NYC Maratahon


Or as ready as I can be. I did everything I could according to my schedule and physical abilities (training drop outs due to the right ankle and left calf troubles). I actually got really nervous yesterday evening, could not fall asleep and had crazy dreams. Today was a great day though. Got up early, had breakfast and headed for the pre-race tune up run. Which is more of stretching, drills, form etc. and then 2 km at race pace (approx. 9:10 min/mile). I went too fast, so my biggest goal for tomorrow is not going out too fast! I also tried all the gear and finalized the clothing choices :) (sneaky preview bellow)




After quick tuna salad sandwich lunch I went for the bloggers' meet up organized by the Hungry Runner Girl. Picked up my team t-shirt, it now has my name and the website in hot pink on it :) Stopped by at home to discuss the fan club strategy with Lada and headed off for the team meeting. There I finally met with Christel from the Silly Girl Running and discussed the details for tomorrow morning. Got my now already traditional pasta - chicken - zucchini combo ready. Laid out all the gear and now I am ready to sleep. Go to the official race site to follow us on the route. I am starting with the 2nd wave at 10:10 am US Eastern time = 4:10 pm European time and it should take me about 4 hours.

  1. It will be not easy to stay cool...but it is really importent to not run so fast, as people around You ...

  3. Krasny tricko! Budu na Tebe myslet! Drzim palce, at se Ti to podari tak, jak sis to vysnila!! Testoviny vypadaji vazne skvele! Je nejaky duvod proc zrovna tahle kombinace /z vyzivoveho hlediska/ nebo Ti proste jen chutnaji :-)

    Blondýna: Taky děkuju, ještě ležím, ale už jdu pomalu na to. Ty těstoviny, to už je trochu tradice, začalo to před půlmaratonem s mojí sestřičkou v Olomouci. Těstoviny = sacharidy, to je jasný. No a ten zbytek je tam spíš na chuť a je vybrán tak, aby co nejmíň "uškodil", takže kuře jako nízkotučný protein a cuketa jako zelenina, co neuškodí, žádná zbytečná vláknina a tak. No a před Nike jsme to papaly taky a teď už je to tradice ;-) Hlavně je důležité jíst něco, co má člověk vyzkoušené a na co je zvyklý ... Jdu na to!

  5. Ja mam obvykle testoviny /to je asi bezcova klasika :-)/ s tunakem a rajcatovou omackou :-)) Cuketa je zajimava i jako zdroj tekutin... zkusim nekdy priste! Tak drzim palce!!! Tes se NYC, ruzova se chysta ovladnout Te :-))))
